    Description

This is a vintage original 1935 typed letter
    sent to
legendary numismatist B. Max Mehl of Dallas, Texas who, according to Wikipedia, is considered the most prominent coin dear in the United States during the first half of the 20th century.
This letter is on the letterhead of the City Treasurer of Charleston, West Virginia and signed by the City Treasurer Jno. D. Price and dated January 5, 1935.   The letter lists five gold coins dated between 1849 and 1857 and one .50 gold coin dated 1861 and asks for his best offer on each.   At the bottom of the letter a note is written which reads “
Must see all coins before an offer can be made
”.   Apparently B. Max Mehl returned this letter to the sender with the notation added.
This letter is a vintage original in excellent condition with original folds, modest toning and light handling wear.  Email any questions.  Thanks for looking.
