  • Condition: There may be tarnish & dust on the model of the churches. There are many tiny orthodox crosses on the buildings atop each of the domes. Only a few crosses have broken off & a few are bent over, please see pictures #1, 3, 6 & 7 - 10. The green felt bottom is coming a little loose at the corners, please see picture #12. Please see all the pictures & use the magnification feature to see all the details. This wonderfully intricate model is ready to display & enjoy!

    Located in the Khizi Pogost on the island of Kizhi in the Republic of Karelia, Russia.
    Many old wooden buildings were moved to this island from all over Karelia in order to preserve them in a museum like setting.  The most famous of them is the Kizhi Pogost.  The Kizhi Pogost enclosure holds 2 churches & an octagonal bell tower.  According to the Russian carpentry traditions of the time the church was made without nails. All the structures were made of scribe-fitted horizontal logs with interlocking corners joinery.  An amazing feat to accomplish!  You can read more about this UNESCO World Heritage Center online.
    This intricate replica model is suitable to display in most any room of your home or office.
    It measures approximately 5.25" long x 3.5" wide & is just over 3" tall - must be made by metric measure. Please see measurement pictures #4 & 5.
